My personal interpretation of spirituality is being in connection with something greater than myself. I connect with, experience and explore the wonder of existence. I first became consciously aware of the wonder of existence when I was in my early 20s and went to the Lake District for the first time. It was a place full of magic and beauty for me and I was totally awed by it. It seemed to fill my whole being with its magnificence, and I felt very much at one with the contours of the land. Something about it spoke to my soul, calling it home.

It is very important to me to that I’m “cost effective” for the Universe, & so, following what I believe to be my life purpose as fully as I can, is my way of being of service to the Universe. I also reflect daily as part of my spiritual practice on what I have done that day – on what I could have done better & what I did well. I have been following my spiritual path for at least 35 years.

I still would not say that I were enlightened, but am now in a better place to help others along the way. I find great fulfilment & satisfaction in the work I do, because I love seeing people blossom as they discover their own potential & confidence as they travel along their own paths.

Life coaching is designed to help people achieve their stated goals. It is forward looking, rather than placing an emphasis on the past. Life coaching encourages a person to have specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time orientated goals. It can be used as a tool for personal or business development or to achieve a satisfactory balance in a client’s life.

I perceive the role of a spiritual coach as being one whereby you guide your client/s towards their own truth. You encourage them in their belief system & give them the permission they seem to seek that their way of practising spirituality is OK. I see the role of spiritual coach as that of a traveller who has been on the path a bit longer than their client & so maybe able to give advice, encouragement & support. The coach may be able to suggest ways of avoiding certain pit falls, & recommend ways the client may wish to proceed. The coach should guard against the client becoming dependant upon them. I am always careful about this with my clients – allowing them to see my feet of clay, letting them know I’m always there for them & guiding them in their next steps along the way. I never pressurise them into anything, but merely advise & suggest, following their lead as I do so.
